It has been a while since I was part of an international blogtour, this is actually a really special one, because we could chose any Christmas gift for a child to sew. I was planning to make this pillow for a little girl that loves to read books, so I thought this was the ideal time to do so. This blogtour is hosted by Seams Sew Lo and she also found some sponsors: Phat Quarters and Seamingly Smitten*.
The fabric has been in my stash for a while now and since it has pink in it, it is the perfect fabric for a girl ;-) (and I added some blingbling so this should be good enough ;-) ). The tutorial to make this pillow with a handy pocket to store a book (or other treasures little girls have), is in Dutch, but don't worry it has plenty of photos so most of you will be able to make it without problems (otherwise, just contact me and I will answer any questions).
This is a fast sew which is actually a good thing nowadays, I really like to make difficult things with a lot of work because I enjoy the result more, but now that Christmas is approaching quite fast, I needed some quicker projects to be able to give most of the people a handmade gift.
For the pictures I added two of my favorite books from my childhood, I won't give them to her but I didn't buy the voucher I will add to the present yet, so that's why I added these books. These books were actually from my mother and aunt when they where you and I read them multiple times when I was at my grandparents place as a child. Now that my grandma has moved to a nursing home, her belongings had to be sold or given away, so I asked for these books.
Of course my label was added so that they now it is really handmade.

* I didn't get anything from the sponsors so this blogpost is completely my own choice and opinion.
Great idea for a quick diy Christmas gift. Also love your own label, still something on my wishlist.
