When Itch to Stitch was asking for testers for her newest pattern, the pattern test for the Nore (stay tuned this week, I will show you my first one) was just ready so I was happy that I was selected for this pattern test.
I love this dress because it is suitable to go to work on a summerday. The last weeks have been super hot in Belgium, more than 30 °C is rather exceptional normally, but we did have multiple of those days. Finding enough outfits that are appropriate to go to work and not to warm, was a challenge. So I am glad that I can add this dress to my wardrobe.
I initially bought this fabric to make a second Gerda dress, but I didn't mind using it for this one. Normally the pattern uses really contrasting fabric for the sleeves and a little part in the front, but I used matching fabric instead and also added this for the waistband. The dress has a nice triangle at the front, I like it a lot, especially with this triangle fabric.
This dress can be worn sporty with sneakers (oh my god, it's the first time ever I dared to try sneakers underneath a dress) or with high heels. I even see myself walking on bare feet in the sand with this one (but I didn't have time to go to the beach to take pictures).
I am not completely satisfied about the waisband, I think a more firm fabric or glitter elastic would be better because of the weight of the skirt.
My Belgian blogging friend Madame Stof, was also selected to test this dress, so make sure to also take a look at her blog.
