I love the patterns of BSD and the Amelia was on my to buy list for a long time, but since I still have plenty of patterns which I didn't use, I decided to wait. When I notices the call from BSD for their sunday sale of the Amelia, I decided that it was a sign and that I HAD to participate ;-). Luckily the deadline was on sunday of a long weekend so I had time to buy fabric and make the dress in that weekend (the weekend before that was too busy to think about sewing).
The main fabric was bought at a market in Mechelen (stoffenspektakel), it was really calm this time so I was able to see most of the fabics without pushing or harming anyone ;-). This fabric was quite a cheap one but I still loved it so I decided to use it for this dress. I combined it with plain black fabric to have a contrasting waistband and also the lining is in the same fabric. Because the main fabric is a little bit see through I had to line the skirt to.
Making the Amelia involves a lot of gathering, something I don't like actually but I do like the result and I am glad I did it.
The pictures were taken at the same place were the ones of Peter his polo were taken, some grafiti in our neighbourhood which is really nice and a nice contrast with the darker colors of our clothes.
I received the pattern for free in return for some pictures, I didn't have to blog about it, so this blogpost is completely my own choice.

VerwijderenMooi!!
